Tom Hiddleston Only Auditioned For Thor, Not Loki

It turns out Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth could have had opposite roles in 2011’s “Thor.” During the actor’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” on Monday, Jimmy Fallon pulled up Hiddleston’s audition tape for the Marve flick… where he was auditioning to play the God of Thunder, not his brother Loki.

In fact, Hiddleston revealed that he “never” auditioned for Loki. All he did to nab the role was sport the blonde locks, wield a miniature version of Thor’s hammer, and shout some of the superhero’s lines. No offense to Hemsworth, but Hiddleston did a pretty good job, too.

“Basically, at the time, they were looking for less well-established actors, so that the audience didn’t have an association,” the actor explained. “The remit was, if you’re over six foot and you’ve got blonde hair, you can come have a pop at it, so… I never auditioned for Loki, only for Thor, which is nuts.”
