Today is National King Tut Day
November 4th is National King Tut Day! This date celebrates the legendary discovery of King Tutankhamen’s Tomb. Over 3,000 years ago, King Tut became the King of Egypt at the young age of 9. Unfortunately his ruling as King was a little short (lasting from 1333 B.C. to 1324 B.C.) as he died at the age of 19.
National King Tut day is celebrated on November 4th of each year to celebrate the day that his tomb was discovered. On this day in 1922, Howard Carter found the buried tomb, making Tut the most popular Egyptian pharaoh of the modern world. To celebrate, spend a little more time with your nose in an Egyptian history book, take a household item to mummify, or the best option: dance around to Steve Martin’s iconic King Tut song.
