The Government Would Like To Remind Everyone How NOT To Cook A Turkey This Year

It’s that time of year again, where the government is tasked with protecting the public from themselves.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is the agency charged with “protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of the thousands of types of consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction.”

In its holiday safety guide, they point out the dangers associated with deep-frying a turkey, which “is not the safest thing to do,” although it produces a “very tasty” result.

In fact, since 2004, there have been at least 107 fire or burn incidents involving turkey fryers that have caused 47 injuries and $5.2 million in property loss.

To hammer this point home, they put together a video that pretty much explains it all.

Enjoy.
