Billie Eilish Named “Billboard’s” Woman Of The Year
There’s no doubt Billie Eilish has had an incredible year, and now “Billboard” is honoring her for it. The 17-year-old singer has been chosen “Billboard’s” 2019 Woman of the Year and will be celebrated at their Women in Music event on December 12th in Los Angeles.
“Billie has disrupted the entertainment industry through her music and social media platforms, leaving an indelible impact on the global cultural zeitgeist,” Hannah Karp, the mag’s Editorial Director shares. “Her ability to speak to the Gen-Z population, making teens and young adults feel accepted in today’s society has quickly allowed Eilish to grow to the top of the charts, breaking the mold for this generation with her electric hair-color and sharp attitude.”
Billie joins several other big artists being honored at the Women in Music event, including Taylor Swift, who will be named Billboard’s inaugural Woman of the Decade, Alanis Morissette (Icon), Nicki Minaj (Game Changer), and Brandi Carlile (Trailblazer).
- ONE MORE THING! [PG-13 Language] Billie’s life has certainly changed over the last three years, and that’s evident in a new interview with “Vanity Fair.” In fact, the singer sat down for the exact same interview three years in a row, and in the new one she reflects on how her life has changed in the past year. “Back then I thought it was the biggest I was ever gonna be, and I thought it was the most I was ever gonna be recognized, and it was the most anyone was gonna know me,” she shares. “It was the most money that I would have, the most clothes I’d have, the most shoes that I’d have, and what’s crazy [is] it wasn’t.”
